I’d bought ironworking tools from these guys before but recently I placed an order where a wrong sized item came. No big deal just a leveling wedge I called the store up and not only did they get the right one to me pronto but also let me keep the wrong size one. Top notch service guys. I don’t know of a better place for American tradesmen to get quality tools at a more than reasonable price. Thank You!

Ive bought a couple council tool axes from them now, they ship it quickly and package the axes extremely well so they dont get damaged. Not the first or last purchase with them, love the store and customer service so far. Hopefully they get the council tool fe6 with a 32 inch handle in soon.

I have been buying from HJE for a long time. One main thing I love about them is that unlike when you order from Zoro, Home Depot, or Amazon, every item gets wrapped in paper. It looks like the box was packed by a professional butcher who's mortgage depends on it. Some prices are higher than others, but sometimes you find 'gold'. Thanks, guys, for allowing poor guys like me to buy USA made tools that will outlive me.

Bought an Estwing hammer from HJE for a Christmas present. They had the best price from my internet searches even though I was out of town. The hammer was well packaged and they got it shipped out quickly and it arrived in time so I could get it wrapped and under the tree. The hammer is exactly what was described on the website. Highly recommend even if you are out of town and need something shipped. They nailed it!

Our Walking Club LOVES to trek to this wonderful tool store! Epstein's have been in KC for ages and have three floors of mostly American made tools. Trust us when we say there is something at Epstein's you didn't know you needed, BUT YOU ABSOLUTELY DO! This visit we learned about a special s-hook that can dig into wood and a special tool for handling a cast iron Dutch oven (,is that redundant?) If you need a screwdriver, they have that. If you don't need anything at all but love learning about tools, stop buy and ask the friendly human behind the counter.
